I've managed to walk at least every other day this week.... a minimum of 25 minutes, and today for about an hour. I took the path from my kids preschool down to the Redondo Pier and around the boardwalk, stopping to go up and down a flight of stairs (about 30 steps up) and down for about 10 ascends... then did some calesthenics, followed by another 5 sets of steps until coming back down and reversing my route back to the pier, and then back to the car... I've not figured out the miles yet, but probably 2 + the stairs... with stairs and inclines and a hill at the end, my legs are feeling great.
Sadly, the fires north of where I live in Los Angeles are affecting the air quality,and although I wasn't hindered with my breathing, my eyes are stinging a bit. I've noticed both my little ones are coughing a little (asthma style)... so it's mild but obvoiusly there. I really feel for those who are right in the fire affected areas, closer than me....
I leave tomorrow with Little Fiona for my cousin's wedding in England. I'll be gone for 2 weeks and have no intention of taking a break from my training... in fact, I'm going to use this time to explore and work out in a different climate. I'm sure I can get my girlfriend and cousin to watch Fiona while I walk for about 45 minutes each day... or take the stroller and we'll go together...
I'm really looking forward to it.
