Walking in California

In refining my walking plan... I continue to walk... adding miles and mile in the beautiful state of California. So I began thinking... what beautiful scenery in California have I NOT seen?... what would I like to see? What would be good to see with the family? Where can we go and explore, while I get a few miles of walking in here and there along the way... of course adding a lovely 10 miler in there every once in a while. And there are many other places in California that I have been, as a child, or in my college years that I would love to return too...
So, in no particular order, I am planning training walks that will incorporate many of the State Parks and Recreation Areas, and National Parks that are in California. I think I'm going to make a link-list at the side of this blog with a list of the parks, and report how many miles in each I walk... it'll be fun to track my efforts.

The first 5 on my wish list... where I would like to walk...

Robert Lewis Stevenson Trail - Northern California
Lake Oroville State Recreation Area - Northern California
Monarch Butterfly Natural Preserve - Santa Cruz - California
Big Basin Redwoods State Park - Santa Cruz - California
Castle Crags State Park - Shasta - California

If anyone wants to visit these places, and walk/hike with me... let's talk, let's walk, let's explore... be prepared to bring families, tents and a sense of adventure as this endeavor is a family friendly experience.

Happy Feet!!!

Hi Suzanne,

After you walk the Californian version of the Stevenson Trail, why not cross The Pond and hike the French equivalent? The scenery is breathtaking and the cameraderie en route is difficult to beat.
