Best Foot Forward!

Fabulous 12.78 miles.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I got up and started out at 7:40 this morning... headed west to Manhattan Beach Pier... then north past the Chevron Plant, and the Airport, and Dockweiler Beach... and then along Balloona Creek.

It was Fabulous!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

AND HAPPY FEET!

Why Walk....... My Mission Statement

My ultimate goal is to walk across the United States... Why? Because I don't want to wonder... why I never did that... For what reason other than my own health? As I go through life, I am a mom, a daughter, a wife, a friend, and a woman who wants to do more than just live... I want to thrive and be alive and challenge myself to do and complete something significant. I've always loved people... so, if I walk and promote self improvment, and share the desire to be healthy for myself, and healthy for my family, and encourage other moms (dads, grandparents, friends, and anyone else who care.... that should be all of us)... then my mission is being heard. Budget: Being healthy shouldn't have to cost a lot of money... outside is a whole wide world to enjoy... yes, there are incidental costs to keep National and State parks clean and maintained, and there are general neccessities such as food, water and clothing... but it doesn't have to be "over the top" expensive, or out of reach for the average family... Taking care: of ones health, such as going to the Dentist, going for annual check ups should be automatic. Each birthday I make a phone call to put appointments on my calendar... for myself and my children... both for body and teeth... and then I take care of myself and get my hair and nails done...it's part of taking care of me so that I can feel good and enjoy the taking care of the family part of my life... Get involved: I'm a busy mom... with 3 kids, and 2 schools, and 3 different pick-up times to worry about... and everyday there is a need in a child's classroom for some help. I've made a decision to be active in their schools... art, library, helping the teachers, cleaning toys... you name it, I'm there as much as is physically possible... it's important for me, and my children, and their teachers, to know that I'm around... it also keeps them (all of them) accountable.... My Work: yes... I actively work... as an artist I have a flexible schedule, but still strive to work on my craft and projects on a day to day basis. I make sure I spend at least an hour, or two taking care of clients, projects and future projects, and allot several hours a week for studio time. I also volunteer and do my best to bring art to children who otherwise wouldn't get art classes. The Walks.... ... Planned routes: From the Beach Cities of Los Angeles, California (Torrance, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan Beaches) to NYC, New York.. with training walks every 6 to 8 weeks to gain support and get physically and emotionally ready... become a fan / follower and learn what's next!!! Who will benefit: Many Non-Profit Organizations, who need need a voice... CoachArt: Bringing Art & Sports to Children with Life Threatening Illness. KidsCan: A Youth Empowerment Organization American Red Cross: Women's Health National Parks: California State Parks: Project Angel Food: The Littlest Heroes Project Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation: National Breast Cancer Foundation: Autism Speaks: Murphy Fitness: (more organizations will be added as each leg of the journey is defined) if you are affiliated with a non-profit organization and/or believe we can partner to bring awareness then please drop us a note and make contact with us... we will be in touch with you.... If you are able to sponsor and or bring in sponsorship, or donate time... please call me... The more participation and involvement, the more I (we) will be able to share the message and encourage us to make better choices and gain personal empowerment, while promoting practical changes. Our future generations will learn to participate in healthier lifestyles as we share positive ideas and practical advice.
